I had a very nice meal tonight. I cooked a whole chicken in my halogen oven and made potatos/sprouts/carrots. Obv I didn’t have the potatoes, but i wanted to make sure my plate was ample.
Having bought a pack of trimmed sprouts from Asda, I chopped them into pieces and added some ham and herbs…Yum! This recipe is based on one my Mum found the Christmas before last, butter is used to saute the chopped bacon before adding the sprouts. No herbs are normally in this.
Here’s the recipe, dukanised:
- Sprouts about 15 smaller ones.
- Thin Sliced Ham 4 slices, chopped into small pieces.
- Tsp Rosemary (chopped)
- 2 Tsp Basil (chopped)
- 1 Clove Garlic (finely chopped)
- Salt & Pepper
You can choose your own quantities for Sprouts and Ham, I’ve listed what was in mine.
First, put all ingredients, except sprouts and S&P, into a pan with a tablespoon of water and fry/saute until ham is half cooked.
Add the chopped sprouts (you could slice these, or peel the leaves, the idea is to have smaller pieces of sprout)
Mix in well and put a lid on the pan and let it saute for about 4 mins. Stir well and replace lid for a further 4-5 mins.
Add seasoning to taste, stir in.
And Enjoy. Thats it. Very simple.
As you can see from the picture, I had a third of a plate of Chicken and two thirds of a plate of sprouts. Mixed in with them was some home grown carrots. A small portion.
